How To Get There by Public Transport - Train to Salisbury Station

Note: There are no bus services from Salisbury station directly to Harnham.

Walk down the slope from the Station and take Mill Road to your first right.  Along Mill Road, at Mill House, the road curves to the left.  Following the line of the coppice, take the path that bears off to the right into Elizabeth Gardens where you will see a ford and a bridge to the right.  Cross the bridge and take the Town Path; the  adventurous may take the ford.  As you walk across the water meadows, you will have Constable's view of Salisbury Cathedral, but also take time to observe the meadow's ditch and furrow system that stretches out across the open pasture.

Follow the path as it twists and turns around Mill Cottage and over the River Nadder's sluice gate, then by the Old Mill Restaurant and pub (worth a visit).  Carry on past the Three Crowns pub and, at the T-junction, turn to your left into Lower Street.  At the end of Lower Street bear to your left into Harnham Road. Walking along Harnham Road you will pass, on your left, a cricket ground, several semi-detached houses and a large nursing home, before coming to All Saints Church.  Turn left into Watersmeet Road at the side of the church.

Taxis are available from the Station cab rank.  If you are arriving by train and have a problem, let one of the Committee know which train you are arriving on, and transport will be arranged (depending on when the Commitee Meeting ends).

How to get there By Road

The hall is close to the Salisbury ring road, at the Southern end, and is next to All Saints Church, Harnham.  The roundabouts on the ring road are all named, Harnham Junction roundabout is a strange one with lots of traffic lights.

Approaching from the South-East (Southampton) direction on the A36, or from the North-East (Basingstoke) on the A30/A303, turn left onto the ring road in a clockwise direction until Harnham Junction roundaboat is reached. Turn right along the Harnham Road (A3094) towards Wilton.  The church is visible on the right a few hundred yards along the road.  Watersmeet road is immediately past the church.  It looks like a car park, as indeed it is!  There is a narrow, single lane, exit at the far end, which is the road proper.  It is a dead end, there is no further parking.  If the hall car park is full, some additional on-street parking is available on the local roads.

Approaching from the Bournemouth/Dorchester direction on the A338 or A354, you will meet the Harnham Junction roundabout immediately, and should turn left into Harnham Road.  Approaching from the Warminster/Shaftsbury direction on the A36 or A30, either continue onto the ring road and use the directions given above or use the the "Southern bypass" A3094, in which case the church will be on the left almost at the end of the Harnham Road.
